No matter how turbulent my path gets sometimes, I still love and appreciate my life. I choose to see every experience through the lens of gratitude, to see every obstacle as an opportunity and a blessing in disguise.

What are your innate qualities that make you who you are?
Do you waiver in these traits, or do you stand firm in them?
Who are you underneath it all?
Define and embrace those traits.

]]>Or are you chasing a plan that is not your own?
Do you know what you want in life? Is that really what YOU want? Or are you thinking of a life that is currently being lived by someone else?
It is important to take a step back and evaluate what you truly want in life, and why you want it. When you know what you want, you won't be chasing a false dream.
We are often able to see a curated version of our friend's lives. The images of glamour, beauty, and perfection might bring thoughts of jealousy, depletion, or a lack of confidence.
We can be happy for our friend's successes and joys, and if we know what we want in our own lives, we will be able to recognize that our joys may look different. The acceptance of these differences allows us to be content for both ourselves and others.
Take a moment to write down what you want in life, and why!

The next time you recognize a win in your life, write it down! Start a win jar to track your accomplishments. At the end of the month, quarter, or even year, reflect on your wins and celebrate yourself. We are doing our best and sometimes we need a reminder of everything we’ve accomplished that has allowed us to reach exactly where we are today.

]]>- Audre Lorde
Audre Lorde (February 18, 1934–November 17, 1992) received a medical diagnosis shortly before her 50th birthday. After refusing surgery or a biopsy, Lorde writes about fear,
"I want to write down everything I know about being afraid, but I’d probably never have enough time to write anything else. Afraid is a country where they issue us passports at birth and hope we never seek citizenship in any other country. The face of afraid keeps changing constantly, and I can count on that change. I need to travel light and fast, and there’s a lot of baggage I’m going to have to leave behind me."
When faced with fear, how do you go on living your life? How do you find clarity and determination in those moments?

]]>When was the last time you received a compliment? How did you respond to the compliment? DId you play it down? Did you remind them of your failures? When was the last time you complimented yourself?
Today, let’s reverse the negative self-talk. Let’s build ourselves up and allow ourselves to receive encouragement. Let’s build our confidence and celebrate even the smallest victories. Let’s celebrate moving through a failure. We are all as much as we are right now, and that is OK.
